Please examine this policy thoroughly prior to booking. When you reserve a charter with NovusCommonsLane, you are accepting and agreeing to the terms of these refunds.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule
More than 72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Complete refund except for processing costs
Processing Time: 5-7 business days
Processing Fee: €50 for credit card dealings
Conditions: Must be presented via written communication such as email or phone call
24-72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Half of the full charter expense
Processing Time: 7-10 business days
Processing Fee: €25 deducted from the refund amount
Conditions: A valid reason is necessary; administrative costs are accounted for
Less than 24 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Refunds are not possible
Exception: Circumstances of urgency may be taken into account
Alternative: Charter credit may be provided at the discretion of the management
Conditions: Verification needed for claims of emergencies
Weather-Related Cancellations
Our Weather Guarantee
Your safety is our highest concern. Should the weather conditions not be favorable for charter operations as determined by our qualified captain, we provide adaptable alternatives:
- Full Refund: Issued when rescheduling cannot be accommodated
- Reschedule: Change your booking to another available time without additional expense
- Charter Credit: Obtain a credit effective for one year from the date of the original booking
Weather Assessment Process
The procedure for weather evaluation includes:
- Analyzing wind force and direction
- Assessing wave amplitude and marine environment
- Checking for visibility and forecasted precipitation
- Monitoring Coast Guard advisories and alerts
- Reviewing the captain's assessment of safety conditions
Decision Timeline: The conclusion on weather-related cancellations is made at least 4 hours before the planned departure.
Medical Emergency Refunds
Emergency Situations
We are sympathetic to the occurrence of health emergencies. The following incidents may warrant exceptional consideration:
- Unexpected ailment or injury that mandates hospitalization
- Loss of a member of the immediate family
- Military call-up or urgent recall
- Required juror service or legal summons
- Travel hindrances due to calamities
Required Documentation
To proceed with emergency reimbursement requests, please submit:
- Health certification or hospital paperwork
- Death record (if relevant)
- Military dispatch
- Court order or notice of juror duty
- Travel cautions or disaster declarations
Processing: Emergency refunds are processed in 3-5 business days after receiving appropriate documents.
Operational Cancellations
Technical Difficulties
In the event that your chosen yacht is rendered inoperable due to mechanical issues:
- Substitute Vessel: We will seek to provide a yacht of similar standard
- Full Refund: Offered if no alternative is available
- Partial Refund: Given if the replacement yacht has a different fee structure
- Compensation: We may provide additional reparation for inconveniences
Crew Non-Availability
On rare occasions when the licensed crew is not available:
- An alternative crew will be allocated if feasible
- Complete refund should the charter be unable to proceed
- Option to reschedule without extra charge
Refund Handling
Reimbursement Method
Refunds will be returned via the original payment method:
- Credit Cards: 5-7 working days for processing
- Bank Transfers: 7-10 working days for processing
- Cash/Cheque: Processed within 3-5 working days
Handling Charges
Credit Card Transactions
A €50 fee applies for terminations made more than 72 hours ahead of time
Processing for Bank Transfers
Each bank transfer refund is subject to a €25 charge
International Transactions
Supplementary costs may be in effect for refunds crossing international borders
Charter Credits
Credit Offering Circumstances
In certain scenarios, we may extend charter credits instead of monetary refunds:
- Cancellations made at short notice (under 24 hours before the booking)
- Cancellations due to unfavorable weather
- Voluntary changes requested to the booking
- Disruptions in operations
Credit Specifications
- Duration: Credits are valid for 12 months from the date of issue
- Exchangeability: Credits are specific to the individual and cannot be transferred
- Value: Equal to the full price of the charter, with no deduction for handling fees
- Application: Credits may be used for any future charter if available
- Expiry: Extensions beyond the 12-month period are not permitted
Partial Service Refunds
Disruptions in Service
If your yacht trip is disrupted or truncated due to reasons within our influence:
- A refund proportional to the unused portion
- Credit options for an equivalent future charter
- Additional complimentary services or upgrades may be provided
Termination Due to Guest Actions
If a trip must end early owing to the actions or safety breaches of the guests:
- No refund will be given for the unutilized duration
- Full payment is required
- Possible additional fees
Resolving Discrepancies
If you find the refund decision unsatisfactory, you are entitled to:
- Seek a reassessment from our management
- Submit further records or justification
- Contact consumer protection entities
- Engage in legal actions in conformity with the governing law

Step 3: Evaluation and Execution
Upon receipt, we will acknowledge your request within 24 hours, assess it in accordance with policy guidelines, convey a decision within 48 hours, and carry out the approved refunds according to the outlined periods.
Additional Information
- Refund applications must be recorded in writing
- Any reimbursement will be processed in €, even if the initial transaction was in another currency
- Securing travel insurance is highly advised
- Policies are subject to alternation with a notice period of 30 days
- Refunds are inclusive of any relevant taxes and regulations
